The Digital Skills Gap for Technology Solutions for Computer Science Education

Author(s) Shelke Bharat Abhimanyu

Abstract This study explores the persistent digital skills gap in computer science education and examines technology-based solutions to address it through a qualitative secondary research approach. Drawing on peer-reviewed literature, policy reports, and institutional data, the research identifies key themes: extent of the gap, curriculum alignment, system readiness, equity barriers, employer expectations, and effectiveness of interventions. Thematic analysis reveals deficiencies in advanced competencies, inequitable access, and weak curriculum-industry alignment. Technology solutions, though promising, require systemic integration, educator training, and equity-conscious implementation. The findings provide evidence-based insights for aligning computer science education with global workforce needs.
